Sabrina Bell Poole was a stellar athlete in Calhoun starting at a young age where she at the age of 6. Her team later won the 14-under state championship in 1976. played on the first ever girls softball team at the Calhoun Recreation Department Sabrina was a competitive swimmer for 11 years, starting at the age of 6. She was a member of swimming and diving teams in Chattanooga, Dalton, Rome and Calhoun. She won the GRPA state championship three times in the breast stroke, breaking the GRPA State Breast Stroke record at age 12. She also placed first in State three consecutive years in 3-meter diving.

Poole continued that impressive athletic career in high school at Calhoun High, playing four different sports from 1976-1980. She was a four-year letterman in track, basketball and softball and a one-year letterman in tennis. On the basketball court, she was named to several all-tournament teams as well as the All-Region Team as a junior and senior and was also the MVP of the region tournament as a senior. While playing softball, she had the highest batting average and most RBIs as a senior, and was named MVP. In track, she was a member of the 440- yard relay and the mile relay teams that set school records in 1978. In 1979, her 440-yard relay team also set a school record. She was also named the Female Athlete of the Year for Calhoun High School in 1979-80. In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Sabrina was a member of the National Honor Society and was a top five honor graduate.

Sabrina received academic and athletic scholarships to attend and play softball and basketball at Hiwassee College. In basketball she earned the Thoroughbred Award for most hustle. She started both years at 2nd base and her softball teams only lost three games in two years. Sabrina received the Academic Award for highest GPA among all student-athletes and graduated magna cum laude in 1982. She continued in athletics at Georgia Southern and West Georgia with an athletic scholarship in basketball and attaining letterman status.

After graduating from college, Poole traveled nationwide while playing on two co-ed Delta Air Lines softball teams. She has served her communities as a youth basketball coach for 10 years in Cobb and Gordon Counties and has been active in fundraising for both city and county school systems.

After graduating from college, Sabrina lived in Atlanta for 20 years while working for Delta Air Lines as a software engineer. She moved back to Calhoun in 2001 and has been an employee of Gordon County Schools, as well as an active volunteer in both the Gordon County and Calhoun City School systems for the past 16 years. She is married to Blake Poole and has 2 boys, Jordan, who is a teacher and baseball coach in Oxford, Mississippi, and Casey, an upcoming senior at Calhoun High School. She is currently a Realtor at Samantha Lusk and Associates.
